About me
Hey, I’m Neelu — a Winnipeg-based photographer and graphic designer, and the person behind CreativelyNeelu.
I got into photography about 15 years ago by “borrowing” my dad’s camera whenever I could. Somewhere along the way, he found out because my dumbass never thought to remove the images from the memory card. That camera eventually became my birthday gift and started my obsession with wildlife photography.
I started with wildlife photography, which meant a lot of walking through hills and forests, riding my motorcycle, driving around, waiting, missing shots, getting lucky, and slowly learning everything by doing. I’m completely self-taught, and wildlife taught me most of what I still use today: watch closely, react quickly, and don’t force the moment.
After moving to Canada, I started photographing more than wildlife — events, portraits, sports, products, and urban scenes. No matter what I’m shooting, I’m usually drawn to candid moments over posed ones. The real laugh. The quick glance.
The split second before someone notices the camera. That’s the good stuff.
I also work in graphic design, creating logos, brand identities, social media graphics, posters, flyers, print pieces, and digital content. Whether it’s photography or design, I like making work that feels clean, useful, and full of personality.
